Vanuatu is an archipelago of 83 islands, in the beautiful warm waters of the southwest Pacific Ocean. Meaning ‘land eternal’, Vanuatu celebrates strong cultural heritage, unsurpassed beaches and astonishing natural beauty.
The land masses in Vanuatu range from raised coral beds to lush, volcanic soil and rainforests. All islands are surrounded with warm seas that are clean and abundant in fish life.
The ni-Vanuatu are a gentle, peaceful race. There are more than 115 different cultures and languages in Vanuatu, living peacefully as a republic under a democratic government.
Perhaps it is for all these reasons that Vanuatu has recently topped the ‘wellbeing and environmental’ index as the happiest country in the world.
Weather
It is always warm in Vanuatu. The wet season typically runs from November to April, while the dry season is from May to October. However, most days are characterised with vivid blue skies shining onto crystal seas. Heavy tropical rainstorms tend to clear within a day.
